Raphaella Medina is an Ney York City-based singer and teacher. A Florida native, she received her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Florida State University, and her Master of Music in Voice Performance from the Moores School of Music at University of Houston.
Raphi's career as an opera singer has seen her perform leading roles at companies across the country including Opera Orlando, Winter Opera St. Louis, Opera Santa Barbara, and Opera in the Heights. She has made recital and concert appearances with La maison Française (NYU), the Orlando Philharmonic in conjunction with the Orlando Ballet, the Villages Philharmonic Orchestra, the New Albany Symphony Orchestra, and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig.
A multifaceted classical singer, this season she will debut the role of Stéphano in Roméo et Juliette with Winter Opera St. Louis, sing the role of The Diva in the world premiere of Dinner to Die For, a new opera with ICEBERG New Music in New York City, and perform recitals and teach masterclasses through the Bermuda Piano Festival.
When she is not singing or listening to music, Raphi loves to hike, cook, read, and go to museums. She is a firm believer that in order to be an artist, we must experience life, and the full spectrum of everything life has to offer.
