Jameson May is a Philadelphia-based Singer/Songwriter, Actor, and Music Teacher. Originally from Wilmington, Delaware, Jameson has lived and worked in multiple cities along the East Coast including: Baltimore, New York City and Jersey City. He has earned a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Pace University and an MFA in Musical Theatre Composition from New York University’s Tisch School Of The Arts

 

As a teacher, Jameson has years of teaching experience as a music teacher in private, as well as classroom settings. He has worked with a diverse range of students of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels, but he specializes in Musical Theater, Folk, Pop and Rock styles. His method emphasises individuality, improvisation, ear training, and experimentation. He wants to help students sound like the best version of themselves, not somebody else. 

As an actor, Jameson has appeared in various Regional theaters along the East Coast. Some of his favorite roles include: Guy in ‘Once’ (New Light Theatre/Delaware Theatre Company), Don in ‘Kinky Boots’ (New Light Theatre/Delaware Theatre Company), Charlie in ‘The Lost Tango’ (World Premiere at Venice Island Performing Arts Center), and Horton in ‘Seussical’ (Theatre Workshop of Nantucket). He has also worked at the Walnut Street Theatre, and the Montgomery Theater. 



 

As a gigging musician/singer, Jameson is a founding member of folk/rock groups Brig Aurora (2023 Delaware Jam Band Winner), and Leech Phase. He has performed at a long list of venues including: The Queen (DE), 54 Below (NYC), The Olympic Tower (NYC), The Grape Room (Philly), Elk River Brewing (MD), Atwaters (MD), and R House (MD). As a recording artist/producer, Jameson’s music has amassed upwards of 70k streams on streaming platforms. 


Jameson is also a sports fan (particularly the NBA), and loves playing pick-up basketball in his spare time. He loves to read (especially thriller/mystery novels) and enjoys watching movies and TV shows. His favorite TV show of all time is ‘Better Call Saul.’ He is also a hip-hop dancer and can light up any dance floor with his moves.
